THE BASIC QUALITIES OF GOOD LEADERSHIP

Leadership can be seen as the art of motivating a group of people to act toward achieving a common goal. In a business setting, this mean directing workers and colleagues with a strategy to meet the company's needs. While in a political field, leadership can simply be referred to as the art of ruling, directing, representating the citizens of a country, and making sure their needs and wants are accomplish and settle. Leadership is a phenomenon that creates an inspiring vision of the future. It motivates and inspires people to embark on a mission with that vision. Leadership can also be seen as the ability of an individual or group of individuals to influence and guide followers to the right path towards achieving a desired goal. It is also the ability to build up confidence and zeal among people and create an urge in them to be led. But in relation to this topic, the basic qualities of good leadership refers to the factors, or nutrients required of an individual to possess in order to make followers that can have the zeal to be led and directed the right way, which can result to the progress, success, and achievement of the desired goal. 

Some of the consequences of poor leadership include; rise of confusion between the leader and followers, failure, retardation in confidence, and difficulty in creating a good and productive meaning. But the major consequence among all mentioned above is rise of confusion between the leader and followers. There will be rise of confusion in a group if a leader does not lead well. Relating this to politics, there will be a rise of confusion in a nation, if a leader does not lead well, or if a leader tries his best to lead well, but some of the sub-leaders are not. An example is the confusion and riot that took place in Nigeria some days back, resulting to citizens breaking warehouses and running away with goods belonging to the government claiming to be palliatives. Coming to this situation, nobody knows if truly these goods are palliatives or not, but the main point here is, the government of the federal republic of Nigeria, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, is a man that have the qualities of good leadership. The reason is because he always try all his possible best to see that Nigeria becomes a great and successful country. But the reason why this goal achievement is resisting, is simply due to the poor and bad leadership of some of the sub-leaders. With which this is one of the main reason why confusion do rises in the country. Below is the video of the confusion and breakdown that took place in Nigeria some days back. 

Therefore, the solution to this problem lies in the hands of both the government and citizens. The government should try and put more effort in fighting these corrupt leaders. And the citizens should always report any person found guilty of engaging in corrupt practices, and should always endeavor to leave the law in the hands of the government not in their hands. This is because a country can only progress if both the government and the citizens cooperate and work together. Therefore, a leader who has the qualities of good leadership, will always have the determination to inspire and motivate it's followers the right way, and will make sure the goal of the team is achieve no matter the situation. 

In conclusion, some of the qualities or factors that can aid or result to good leadership include; patience, determination, hardwork, integrity, ability to delegate, gratitude, good influence, empathy, and wisdom.
